
Eric Munn
Head of School
Mr. Munn grew up in New England where he had the privilege of being raised in a Christian home. He accepted Christ as his personal savior in Vacation Bible School as an 8-year-old.
Upon graduation from high school, he attended Pillsbury Baptist Bible College where he met his wife, Kathy. He finished his elementary education degree at Gwynedd Mercy University and began his teaching career in Houston, Texas. He furthered his education by obtaining a masters degree in educational leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Mr. Munn accepted his first Head of School position in 1991 at Open Door Christian School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Mr. Munn is an educational leader with over 30 years of experience as Head of School in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. His priorities in leadership include:
- Empowering teachers through staff development and creativity
- Championing the truth of Biblical worldview
- Focusing and empowering the vision of community
- Building and empowering the leadership team and teaching faculty
- Advancing a school culture that embraces an “excellence in everything” approach
- Cultivating and promoting a Christ-centered worldview in students and the community
In Mr. Munn’s 30+ years as a Head of School, he has been closely associated with the Association of Christian Schools International. He has served and continues to serve as an ACSI Accreditation Chairman, conducting over 25 accreditation visits, served as an ACSI Effective Schools Task Force Member, served in the role of both an ACSI state and regional council member, and currently serves as an ACSI Southeast Regional Commissioner. Mr. Munn is also a member of the Paul Young Christian School Roundtable. Mr. Munn has been married to Kathy for 44 years, has four grown children, all of whom are Christian school graduates, and has 8 grandchildren. Mr. Munn serves as Sunday School teacher and deacon at Hollywood Baptist Church, Rome.
