1st Annual Art Show, Unity Christian School

The first annual Unity Art Show was more than an event, it was a celebration of creativity, talent, and the gifts God has placed within our students. Behind the scenes, a group of generous supporters made it all possible by helping provide the art display grids that brought this vision to life. Because of their investment, our students’ work was displayed with excellence for our entire community to enjoy. We are deeply thankful for their support.

A Celebration of Creativity and Purpose

For Mrs. Lily, seeing Unity’s first annual Art Show come to life was both exciting and deeply meaningful. “I loved seeing the visual arts recognized in such a big way,” she shared.

Beyond the display of talent, the impact on students was undeniable. “When children create art, are recognized for it, and praised for it, it changes them in ways they may not have even realized they needed,” she explained. “Healing can take place. A child who is shy may find their voice when they are recognized.”

For many students, the Art Show became more than just an event, it became a place where they felt seen.

“They worked so hard on the pieces featured in the show, and to see that effort celebrated was incredible,” Mrs. Lily said. “Sometimes students don’t understand the full picture of what they are creating, but the Lord does. He is using each step to shape them into who He designed them to be.”

At its core, the visual arts program at Unity is about more than creativity, it is about purpose. “Artistic expression is a way to glorify the Lord,” she said.

One of her favorite moments from the night captured that perfectly: watching students light up as they found their artwork on display, eagerly sharing it with parents, family members, and anyone who passed by.

Looking ahead, Mrs. Lily hopes the Art Show will continue to grow and be recognized as a celebration of the hard work and creativity each Unity student pours into their art.
